I was honoured to be invited to speak at 'Pecha Kucha' in Norwich on Sunday 14th June. The format of the talk originates from Tokyo and literally means 'chit chat', with the format being 20 images x 20 seconds. This keeps the presentations short and concise.
I spoke about my love of drawing on location, with slides representing my journey of discovering this. My notes rapidly went out of the window as the microphone was handed to me, and I struggled to see in the dim bar light! Plus due to the fast pace, I was talking far too much per slide. I really enjoyed the evening and fielded some questions afterwards. Always good to get people’s reactions to your work.
I spoke alongside three other creative types with the final speaker being Amanda Geitner, the curator of the Sainsbury's Centre, who spoke about Francis Bacon and his relationship with the Sainsbury's.
Really good night, thanks to Jason and Monica for organising, and to my team of supporters. Official website here: pechakucha.org/cities/norwich
