I ran the London Marathon this year for the first time. It was by far the hardest physical challenge I have ever done. But the feeling on the day and afterwards is really amazing, London feels so full of life and everyone is in great spirits. I completed it in 4hr 55mins and raised £1281 for Heads Together, Macmillan Cancer Support and Dementia UK.
I wasn’t sure to do any drawing on the day but just a few days before I decided that I would take a sketchbook and some pens with me for the run. I captured some of the scenes at the start and although I was thinking of doing some drawing whilst completing the marathon, I was too busy concentrating on running and physically surviving!
Here’s my drawings from the day. Maybe next year i’ll just draw it and not run as well!
