• I am based in Norfolk, UK and I currently cover England and Wales. For weddings further afield please get in touch and we can discuss my availability, for locations further than 150 miles I require a full day booking.

  • I use ink, pencil, watercolours and gouache. I paint on high quality heavyweight hot press watercolour paper and use professional quality paints that will not fade and have vibrant colours.

  • Typically my ceremony illustrations are A3 in size, however I do produce illustrations up to A1 (59x84cm) with other moments being A4 or 10x7”. Guest portraits are A5 or 10x7”.

  • I bring my own chair for me to sit and paint your guests from, easels to work from and to display completed artworks, along with sign(s) if required. I also bring battery powered lights if needed and all materials.

  • I don’t need power, as I bring my own battery powered lights. For guest portraits a well lit space is preferable and a chair or two for guests to sit on if required. An approx 2x3m space would be enough for me, my easel and space for me to work.

  • My prices can be seen on my packages page. These are valid for 2023/24 dates. Milage included for weddings in Norfolk, otherwise charged at 45p per mile. For full day weddings more than 50 miles from my location I would need to charge for accommodation. If you would like me to stay on the day for extra time, additional hours are charged at £150 per hour.

  • For these I arrive at least an hour before the ceremony and setup my easel and materials. I then get to work capturing the setting and complete the ceremony illustration whilst it takes place, typically taking 2-3hrs to complete.

For other moments during the day I work from a smaller drawing board and capture these discreetly. I like to capture the cake, florals, the setting and even parts of speeches if I draw them! When I am booked I would discuss with you beforehand what you would like me illustrate.

I display completed illustrations on the day for your guests to see, and they are often amazed at what I manage to capture and enjoy spotting themselves in the pictures!

  • Typically I arrive 30mins before I am due to start painting and setup at your venue. Depending on location I bring my own easel and chair to work from along with an easel to display a few pictures and show people what I do.

Guests then approach me for a portrait, they can stand or sit and I draw them while they wait in 5-10mins. Guests then make a queue when waiting, or look out when I'm free. I am happy with talking and moving people, they don't need to stay still like a statue! My process is quite informal and I talk to guests whilst drawing them, as it is something they probably have not had done before!

After finishing the portrait I hand it to the guest to take away, they are typically A5 in size so easy to keep hold of. Alternatively, if they would rather leave the portrait with me I can pop it on display or safely store it for them to collect later.

  • When drawing live guest portraits I am normally flat out for that period and the more people see the results, the more people want one! I typically draw couples in 10-12 mins approx, individuals in 5 mins and groups in 15-20 mins.

So the overall number can vary, some people are happy watching me work rather than have a portrait drawn so I wouldn't worry about having portraits of every single guest (unless you have a smaller wedding of around 30 guests when I should be able to draw everyone on the day!)

If you have guests that you would love to have a portrait drawn (mother and father of the bride and groom for example) just let me know and I can make sure I draw them first.

  • I offer a free no-obligation Zoom consultation if you would like to discuss further what I can do for you, or if you would like to find out more about how I work. I am also happy to meet in person at a Norfolk location.

If you have any further questions not answered above, just drop me an email or give me a call.
